CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1999 Ford Light Truck, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. Click here for the Ford paint code location chart and paint code image example.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1999 Ford Light Truck is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Brian, owner of a 2000 Ford Taurus from New Jersey

I purchased a 2000 Ford Taurus which had already been repainted several years ago. The car was in great condition with the exception of the rear trunk lid which had some paint peeled off apparently due to improper preparation. It also had several peeling spots of top color coat when the detailer buffed off some decals. I purchased the primer, top coat, clear coat, prep sol and tack cloth from AutomotiveTouchup watched the instructional videos and followed the directions and after hand buffing with light compound it looked pretty good but not absolutely perfect (though probably perfect to someone who didn't know it was redone). I purchased a chrome license plate frame to dress it up a bit and it looked perfect. I was pretty amazed that the color was a perfect match!

Michael S, owner of a 2000 Ford Windstar from Gold Hill, OR

My second experience with your products... The first was bumper touch-up on my 1993 Honda. This time I bought a new bumper and grille for my Ford Windstar and painted the whole thing with and single can of base and clear. The only problem came in the buff-out. I put on a little too much pressure and went through to the black plastic in one small spot on the bottom edge. Thanks, Mike Smith
