CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1999 Ford Excursion, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. Click here for the Ford paint code location chart and paint code image example.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1999 Ford Excursion is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Douglas M, owner of a 2000 Ford Taurus from Fort Myers, FL

Excellent match. Great flow. Painted whole roof of car with spray cans. 1 can for base 2 cans of clear coat. Thank You for selling the proper products: Doug

Brandon, owner of a 2000 Ford Taurus from Alvin, TX

My name is Brandon from Alvin, Tx. I bought a pint of the toreador red metallic touchup paint, and a quart of clear, about a month ago to complete a door restoration for my 2000 Taurus. Some delays kept me from getting it done, but door was officially painted as of 7/20 at 3 pm. The next day I was told I could pick it up. Initial impressions were that the color looked pretty good, but was a bit darker than mine (as expected from aging... that's real hard to match). The paint also felt a bit loose, but not soft or anything. But I left an impression with my fingernail. It had a few knocks around the edges too. I was a little concerned it wasn't going to stay on very well. However.... 7/23, today, and the paint is hardened up nicely and even dulled a bit in color. So this was a mistake made by myself and my painter, not yours, as we had underestimated the set time. Plus he was not familiar with using a premixed, ready-to-spray formula (said he only used 2 part catalyst mix... I didn't know). But I didn't pay much to have it done, and he did his best. Overall, it came out really well sans a few marks here and there where you can't really even see. So I will be needing a small touch-up pen soon to patch up the few little marks around the bottom of the door (don't want a peel to start happening), but all in all, I am quite pleased with how it came out. Even the slight orange hue that happens as this toreador red ages came out today when I last checked on the door. So I gues
