CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1996 Ford Telstar, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. Click here for the Ford paint code location chart and paint code image example.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1996 Ford Telstar is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Carloz C, owner of a 1997 Ford Explorer from Tulsa, OK

They did a great job and I'm very satisfied with the results. The paint was amazing and everyone loved it. Great job!

NinjaFan, owner of a 1997 Ford Expedition from Laguna Niguel, CA

I just completed a small paint job for my 97 Expedition. I repainted a set of door moldings. The originals had the chrome strip down the middle that had severely yellowed and cracked. I found myself a set of molding from a 2001 Eddie Bauer model but were in black so I needed to paint them to match my Ford F7 green. I purchased the auto primer, an adhesion accelerator, Ford F7 matching color and a can of 2K clear coat. I followed all the directions and came out with an amazing result. I passed on using the accelerator because it is designed for unpainted plastic and I was painting over existing paint. The color match is amazing!. But it's the clear coat that gives the wonderful full gloss shine like a factory finish. I'm very happy with the products sold by Automotive Touchup.
