CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1989 Ford Ranger, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. Click here for the Ford paint code location chart and paint code image example.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1989 Ford Ranger is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Robert J, owner of a 1990 Ford from Bellingham, WA

My order for two colors for my 1990 Ford Econoline 150 arrived quickly after I placed it. The 2-oz bottles are easy to handle, and the brushes attached inside the caps work well to apply the paint to scratches and small areas. The darker color (dark grey) is a perfect match. The lighter color (also grey) is a bit darker than what's on the car. This is certainly because the paint on the car has gotten lighter with exposure to sun and weather. In fact, some areas that were covered up by detail tape, which I've just now removed, are the same as what's in the bottle. So, all in all, I'm quite satisfied. I won't hesitate to order touch up paint from Automotive Touch Up again.

David A, owner of a 1989 Ford from Great Falls, VA

My 1989 Ford F-250 was freshly restored to its factory colors when a technician doing some work on the truck backed it into some equipment, leaving some deep scratches down the bed. The scratches couldn't be rubbed out so I decided to try your paint pens. Was surprised that the colors for a 24 year old truck were a perfect match! Can't even see the scratches now! Really pleased.
