Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1987 Ford Truck is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Jay O, owner of a 1986 Ford Mustang from Pooler, GA

Your paint match is right on target. Clear coat is also a good product. I'm glad I found your company online. Therefore I'm a repeat costumer. Thank you!

Ivan Giebler, owner of a 1986 Ford from Kansas

I have a 1986 F-150 with desert tan metallic paint. I had a hood that was in dire need of paint and was skeptical whether I could come close to a match after 34 years being outside most of the time. I tried a couple of places locally to match my color to paint some rust repairs on the lower rear fenders which a lot of these Fords have. We had to tinker with the tint several times to get it even close to match and it worked for the small area I had to cover. Now that I needed to paint the entire hood I knew it would be too obvious a difference, so I thought I would give automotive touchup a try. I ordered 2 spray cans of base and 2 of the clear coat, not really expecting much. I prepped the hood and shot the base only to find out that this color matched remarkably well! I couldn't believe it. Once I sprayed the clear and let it set for 2 days, I buffed it out and it's amazing how close this paint matched to the original. I am very well satisfied. I was also weary of how well a large area with a spray can would work. The spray nozzle that they use here is great. Nice spray pattern. Just keep the tip clean as you spray between coats. If you need any paint in the future this should be the first and only place to go. Thank you....
