CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1999 Dodge Full Pickup, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. 2007 and newer Dodge models usually have the paint code in the door jamb. Most paint codes are three digits long and start with a P or Q and contains letters and/or numbers. Click here for more Dodge paint code locations and paint code images.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1999 Dodge Full Pickup is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Craig , owner of a 1998 Dodge Stratus Sedan from Pipestone, MN

Started with a small touchup painting kit last autumn 2025. The paint matched to my 1998 Dodge Stratus perfectly. Now with summer 2026 here, began the serious work of some body repairs and rust remediation. Also, the paint was beginning to flake off in some places although the majority of the body was still in excellent condition largely due to the care shown by previous owners. Ordered the spray can kit that also included the primer, clear coat and various sandpaper grits, cleaner wipe, etc. Received it about a week later. The work has gone very well, but underestimated by just a little, how much spray paint I'd need. I have HVLP paint spray guns, but the spray can nozzle worked excellently and saved me from a cleaning job of my own spray guns. Recently ordered another kit of the spray can base, primer and clear coat. Automotive Touchup let me know through email they'd be starting the order within a week of receiving it, like they did with my first order. A few days after that UPS emailed. They'd received the packet and provided the date of its eventual delivery to the house. I'm very pleased with Automotive Touchup with its excellent customer service as well as the quality of its product.

Craig, owner of a 1998 Dodge Stratus Sedan from Pipestone, MN

Had no intention of repainting the entire car since its two previous owners kept its dark green color in excellent condition. But time alone will eventually take a toll on a few areas at least, like it did to my 28 yr. old car. I had previous restoration experience with a 40 yr. old pickup the year before so was not intimidated by the small task at hand. Ordered the spray can package twice after a small bottle sampling kit the year before. Was so happy with the matching results that I ordered the second spray can package to expand the repainting areas. You get everything you want or need in these packages. You don't have to include everything they suggest. I did with the first one and had enough primer left over to only order another can of base and clear coat, which arrived in less than a week. So, they did a very nice job matching the color and including everything, including sandpaper and such, to get the job at hand finished in a professional manner.
