CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1998 Dodge Dakota, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. 2007 and newer Dodge models usually have the paint code in the door jamb. Most paint codes are three digits long and start with a P or Q and contains letters and/or numbers. Click here for more Dodge paint code locations and paint code images.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1998 Dodge Dakota is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Dale T, owner of a 1998 Dodge Dakota from Anaheim, CA

Great color match on my new roll pan and rack. Thanks

Dennis M, owner of a 1998 Dodge Dakota from Norristown, PA

Thank you for the perfect color match. The truck lost its clear coat on the hood and roof. With four spray cans of base coat and two cans of clear coat the truck now looks new. PS: The gun snap on was great to use. Thank you.

Michael S, owner of a 1998 Dodge Dakota from Wood River, IL

Your paint matched up perfectly. I have not even finish sanded or buffed yet and you can not tell the difference from the rest of the vehicle. Great job!!!!

Thomas W, owner of a 1998 Dodge Dakota from Edmonds, WA

I have used your products for both my 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup and my 2008 RAV 4. In each case, the match has been very good to the original factory paint codes. Light spraying, with several coats, works well in blending in on larger panels. For my Dodge Dakota pickup, I needed to redo both the cab top and the hood, while the rest of the original paint was in good shape. Work is still underway but to date the hood, with one coat over a gray primer, is looking good. Anticipate no problem with another coat or two then the clearcoat.

Jerry B, owner of a 1998 Dodge Dakota from Eighty Four, PA

I was amazed at how well you matched the color, I will be sure to come back in the future for any other paint I need...You got it to me promptly which I liked ..Thank you for your assistance.
