CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1997 Dodge Intrepid, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. 2007 and newer Dodge models usually have the paint code in the door jamb. Most paint codes are three digits long and start with a P or Q and contains letters and/or numbers. Click here for more Dodge paint code locations and paint code images.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1997 Dodge Intrepid is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Lee , owner of a 1997 Dodge Intrepid from ND

Painted plastic bumper that clear coat had fell off, turned out great at half the price of what local paint place wanted and matched perfect. Thanks, Lee

Craig, owner of a 1998 Dodge Stratus Sedan from Pipestone, MN

Just spent 4 months restoring my badly rusted 1986.5 Nissan pickup not leaving much time for the Dodge before the cold Minnesota temps started. That's why I began 'small' with your product line since there was only one small, rusted area on the body I wanted to try this out with after watching your informative video. The rusted area I tested was about the size of a silver dollar. Carefully followed the directions and was very pleased with the results. Didn't take any short-cuts so even for such a small area, to do it right required some time I was more than willing to give. The original paint has always been kept in great shape by the previous owners, so the new paint matched the old very well. My intentions now are to order more paint and supplies from you next Spring. Hoping to only paint those panels in need of repair, but we'll see what that looks like then. Just recently finished working on the car so didn't want to offer any ratings or comments until after I was done. I'm very pleased!

Steven W, owner of a 1998 Dodge Avenger from Kuna, ID

I had to replace the driver's door handle since the original one broke on me. The replacement came black and unpainted, so I was grateful I found your products. After prepping the glossy surface with 600 grit sand paper I applied the touch up paint, the color is a solid match.
