CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1987 Dodge (All Models), we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. 2007 and newer Dodge models usually have the paint code in the door jamb. Most paint codes are three digits long and start with a P or Q and contains letters and/or numbers. Click here for more Dodge paint code locations and paint code images.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1987 Dodge (All Models) is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Richard H, owner of a 1987 Dodge from Rochester, NY

Special project liked the color. Great match

John V, owner of a 1987 Dodge from West Orange, NJ

Currently working on clear coat hazing of a 1987 Dakota. Working slowly, but can tell the color match is spot on the two tone Cream and Bronze originals. Wish I could find other parts as quickly and accurately as your paint.

Zack N, owner of a 1987 Dodge from Stephenson County IL

The paint from these guys worked out GREAT!!! My old truck (1987 Dodge Dakota) had a few area's that were rusted out, while the majority of the body was in good shape. I chose to fix it myself this winter, as the truck isn't really worth taking to a body shop. (It would cost much more than the truck is worth) I wanted to make it look nicer, so I started cleaning up the metal and patching. I found out quick, that none of the spray paints from the local stores matched very well. So, I took a chance when I found automotive touch up's website. I bought a spray can of paint. Took awhile for it to get to me, and I researched more, and found that it takes awhile to get a proper mix at the company. Well, the wait was worth it as the paint-to my surprise, actually matched the factory paint on the truck. I gotta say, I am very pleased. For an old work truck, the Dakota looks really good again. Looks how it did when I bought it 8 years ago! Hopefully it lasts longer than another 8 years before the body starts to rust out.
