To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2010 Chevrolet Colorado, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. I bought 1 can of primer, 2 cans of factory basecoat Berry Red Metallic and 1 can of the good urethane clearcoat. The paint went on great, matched perfectly and covered extremely well. I had 2 large scratches on the hood of my truck from vandalism. The scratches were down to bare metal. I used a paint pen, merlot red which is also cardinal red metallic. Once cured, I used a clearcoat pen then after drying used 1500 grit wet paper and finally rubbing compound and wax. You cannot tell where the scratches were. Perfect match.
