CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2006 Chevrolet Malibu, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code will be located on a sticker named Parts Identification. The code can start with BC/CC followed by a U, or a WA with a four digit number/letter combination. We use the WA format for simplicity, your code may have a U. WA8555 is the same as U8555. Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 2006 Chevrolet Malibu is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

TomV119, owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu from Levittown, PA

I just got done painting the new fender and bumper and I think it came out great. I Wish the site would let me upload the images. I will install the parts this week. I think the paint matches well. I will be able to tell better once put back on car.

Shannon, owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu from Missouri

I ordered base coat and clear coat along with the can mounted spray handle, sand paper, and tape with plastic sheeting. It made taping off and painting easy and the results were good. The color match was very close. The original paint was faded some but I am happy with the results especially considering my cost to do it. I was able to do the paint work for about 1/4 the cost of a local shop. The final product is not as good (due to my workmanship) but.....good enough. I would use this approach again if needed.

Anthony C, owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu from Palatka, FL

2nd time I ordered through AT, perfect match again!

Ken S, owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu from Hinckley, OH

Very pleased with the quick service and the excellent quality of the paint. The match is perfect and the spray cans do an excellent job for the small touch up area I had. I would definitely recommend this product!

James M, owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu from Augusta, GA

Great product easy to use perfect match.

Joe M, owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu from Warren, PA

Dennis A Rusinovich, owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu from Syosset, NY

Being a first-timer, I was leery about using your product. There is another established, well known company that produces touch-up paint. Since I couldn't find the color in bottle/brush form for my son's vehicle, I searched the web. In all fairness, my son's car is 7 yrs. old. When the paint came, I thoroughly shook and stirred the 2 oz. bottle. I opened the jar and found the paint to be very "fluid." It wasn't thick and gooey as I was accustomed to. The paint color which is a metallic red, flowed on so easily and it covered in one shot. It was a 99.9% match. I couldn't believe it! When I told my wife to look at our son's trunk, she wanted to know where the scratch (about 1/8" wide and 1" in length) went? She actually bent down and touched the area to see. It was that good! Will I use you again? You bet! No fuss, no muss! Dennis A. Rusinovich

Keen Y, owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu from Brooklyn Center, MN

I'll be buying from these guys again! I purchased acrylic lacquer primer, urethane basecoat, and acrylic lacquer clearcoat in cans for my spray gun. Shipping was free and quick! The carton came with the cans packaged really well in individual boxes. The primer had good solids and wet sanded well. Basecoat for my Sport Red Metallic Malibu went on well with good metallic distribution. The color match was very close. The clear needed 3 coats, and looks great. When they tell you the product covers 38 square feet, believe them! I used all of the primer and clear, and nearly all the basecoat. Of course, I'm not exactly a pro with a spray gun. Overall I was extremely satisfied, as I saved nearly 50% over what I would have spent on PPG DBU from my local supplier.
