To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2005 Chevrolet Colorado, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code will be located on a sticker named Parts Identification. I was never able to find the Sunburst Orange Metallic color in a touch up spray or bottle in any auto parts store even when the truck was new. Now the truck had a few spots around the fender flares that needed some work. I went to Advance Auto Parts and was told that this color was not available anywhere and to try online. I ordered an aerosol spray can from AutomotiveTouchup.com and received a well packaged shipment in less than two weeks, which I thought was pretty good. The paint sprayed really well. Very even, consistent and no blemishes. I did not use a clear coat, as recommended. After finishing up I found the color to be dead-on but a tad dark.The truck has sat outside in Pennsylvania weather for 14 years. I didn't expect a match even this close. I am quite happy.

The paint matched fairly well. The spot I painted under the doors is hard to notice unless you look right at it up close; it's much less noticeable than the previous rust spot. A few other spots on the doors and truck bed are clearly visible. It matched better than the spray paint I tried from the hardware store but only just. I was pleased with the coverage, I got the 2 oz bottle but could have easily gotten away with the 1/2 oz.
