To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2001 Chevrolet G Class, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. Had to wait for a calm day to paint. We are half a mile above sea level here and it is almost always breezy or downright windy. Job went well, color is perfect. When it has cured for a few days a thick slather of paste wax ought to complete the job. Local body shop quoted $3000 for the job. Of course they would have done a perfect job, but I'm satisfied with what we've done. It is quite satisfactory.
