CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1996 Bmw IX1, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1996 Bmw IX1 is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Satisfied Customer, owner of a 1997 BMW 5-Series

I bought the cleaner, binder, primer and paint to repaint my damaged bumper and decided to try and spray a small area on the left fender. I followed the technique used in the video and am amazed with the result. I have looked at my job in direct sunlight trying to discern any difference and even knowing exactly where the original paint joins, I am unable to detect the slightest imperfection. My paint was BMW's Oxford Green Metallic, a dark color. Since the automobile has always been garaged there was no fading. This undoubtedly was a factor in the result I achieved. But the paint sent by Automotive Touchup was a DEAD ON MATCH! Not only would I buy this paint again... I already have!

David A, owner of a 1997 BMW 8-Series from Woodstock Valley, CT

The color is a very good match...thanks. As far as pricing goes, the quart size could stand to be a little cheaper, so I tried to do it with a pint. It was going over gray primer and 3 coats wasn't quite enough to cover completely (you can tell in sunlight). Next time I'll prime in black. Now I need to re-order and buy the quart.
