Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 2000 Audi TT Coupe is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

J P, owner of a 2000 Audi TT Coupe from San Francisco, CA

I purchased the pen clear + body to try and remedy a bunch of long key marks. I already had touch up paint mixed for me at a body shop but the color in the pen from AutomotiveTouchUp was a much closer match... very impressive...

Gary A L, owner of a 2000 Audi TT Coupe from BC Canada

At first I only used Automotive Touchup for those little bottles of touchup paint, to repair stone chips (which are great by the way). But then I tried the spray paint with clear coat to paint some add on body parts (spoilers etc). The match is just incredible, and with the clear coat, it turns out mirror shiny. It is perfectly acceptable for small parts that you want an exact match for, or for quick fixes that you don't want to pay the body shop for. I've used this for both my Audi and BMW, both are metallic colours, so would seem hard to match, but not!

John K, owner of a 2001 Audi TT Roadster from Carlsbad, CA

I had various results with my touch-up job. The plastic bumper looks fantastic, with a high gloss and great color match. The rear fenders look good on the vertical surfaces, degrading as the surfaces curve around to the trunk and become horizontal. The trunk repaint was not very good. Where the color match is still good, the texture is very grainy and not very glossy. Not much of an improvement over what it looked like before. I'm thinking that sanding between the paint and clearcoats might have helped, or maybe wet sanding after the clearcoat with 1000 rather than 2000. Maybe I didn't take enough off? I followed the directions on your videos, but can't help but thinking there may have been a better way to go about it.
