CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1998 Acura Tlx, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. Here is an example of an Acura paint codes and it's locations.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1998 Acura Tlx is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Kerry O, owner of a 1997 Acura CL from Austin, TX

I recently used your aerosol spray paint and clear coat on my 1997 acura cl. The trunk had faded, so I had tried a do-it-yourself sanding, etc. Disaster. I was amazed at the wonderful job your products did. I had overlapped my tape a bit too much in one place, and could not believe the difference in color when the tape came off. I then realized that my car had faded that much from the original color. After all, the car is over 15 years old. I reapplied in that area and did a fade. It turned out great. I think people need to realize that if they have an older car, it will have faded. The paint was a perfect match to the original color. Do cheap to do. So happy with your product. Shipping did take more time than indicated on your site, via ups> I would suggest that if you advertise a certain amount of shipping time, you adhere to it as people sometimes have to plan in advance because they have to allot the time and sometimes arrange for others to help them. Other than that, great products. Thanks. Kerry Owens

Mike I, owner of a 1997 Acura RL from Wexford, PA

I finally got a chance to do some body work on my car. Everything worked out perfectly and the color matched well and blended in rather well. One small problem I had was the amount of paint in the second can. For some unknown reason the can emptied much sooner than the first one. I'm not implying that you short changed me but all I can say I got more areas covered with the first can than the second one. Other than that everything was fine. Thank you.
