Using body filler for a smooth, paintable surface

Using body filler is an important step because without it, the color coat will call attention to any imperfections in the surface. Body filler gives you the smoothest possible surface for your paint to lay over. In this video, we show you how to prepare the surface for the body filler. We show you how to apply the filler, and sand it with progressively finer sandpapers until it is smooth, level and blends into the surrounding area. Then, we show you how to mask and clean the area to be painted. Finally, we show you how to spray on the primer, basecoat color and clear coat to make your repair virtually disappear into the panel.
