Gregg M, owner of a 1990 Acura Legend from Tucson, AZ

This was my second time using products from Automotive Touch Up and this time I was not as ecstatic with the results due to my amateur attempt at fixing severely faded paintwork on a 25 year old car with 235,000 miles. First: not enough prep work, sanding, etc. to get the surface spotless and perfect on all the horizontal surfaces (hood, roof and trunk). Second: the existing paint on a 25 year old car will never match freshly sprayed paint. The color match was very good to perfect, but much richer and slightly darker than the existing paint --- to be expected compared to the remaining 25-year old paint on the rest of the car (doors and quarter panels). Third: despite constantly cleaning the tip of the spray can for the base color, occasionally I would get a blob of darker paint and there was nothing I could do to remove it. Overspraying it with more paint did not help. Fourth: I did not order enough clear coat so the final finish is spotty in many places. So am I happy - yes! The car looks way better than it did and for less than $150. I would have spent at least 3-4 times that amount to have someone else do it. For what the car is worth (<$1000) and is a work/airport car that still gets 25 mpg. Once I get the car back from a family member that is using it, I can still order more clear coat and finish the job properly!
