Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1970 Triumph (All Models) is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Paul B, owner of a 1970 Triumph from Pepperell, MA

It’s amazing to me that AutomotiveTouchup would even have the paint formula, Paint Code #55 (Laurel Green), for my 1970 Triumph Spitfire. Even more amazing is how perfectly it matches the original paint on the car. I have applied AutomotiveTouchup paint in several places on the car during its restoration and am always super pleased with the results. I highly recommend their products. Paul B.

James T, owner of a 1970 Triumph from Broadview Heights, OH

I tried your primer, touch up spray. Okie and clear coat. It was a good color match. I would recommend wet sanding the primer before painting. The clear coat gave it the finish match that was desired. I plan to some more areas soon. Jim Cleveland, OH

Eric J, owner of a 1970 Triumph from San Rafael, CA

The paint worked great! Touched up firewall and trunk, looks like new. Perfect match and covers well, I will be buying more in the future. Eric Johnson

Carl A, owner of a 1970 Triumph from Manassas, VA

Bought this product initially to cut in the jambs on a replacement door that I bought for my Classic British Sports Car and it worked wonderfully for that. So I bought more for other vehicles, some of which I have used and some not yet. All of the ones I have used have been excellent results. I intend to purchase my complete paint needs from here when I am ready to do the complete paint on my Classic which hopefully won't be to much further in my future.

Super pleased, a great find! I am restoring my 1970 Triumph Spitfire and anything at all that could help make the restoration easier is very welcome. And this AutomotiveTouchup paint has made the restoration a whole lot easier in a very cost-effective way. I was very surprised and pleased to discover that AutomotiveTouchup was even offering an oddball color such as “Laurel Green” #55 for a 1970s Triumph automobile restoration in their Custom-mixed Touch Up Paint collection. Mostly, I am very grateful that their paint was, in fact, an exact color match and for the ease of application. In the past, I used custom ordered/custom mixed, single stage Acrylic Urethane for the firewall. It was fairly expensive and then there was the mix process of adding hardener and reducer to deal with. On top of that, there was the time-consuming cleanup of the spray gun, etc. With the AutomotiveTouchup paint it is literally point and shoot. Cleanup consists of nothing more than inverting the spray can and clearing/wiping the spray nozzle. What a great time and money saver!! The basecoat color dries to a flat finish (which is actually sufficient for out of sight areas). And with the application of a little wax, would do just fine. But the additional gloss clear coat from AutomotiveTouchup does bring out a vibrant finished look for those visible areas. Needless to say, I am very, very pleased with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone doing his or her own restoration project. It is a very cost-effective approach to a very pleasing finished product. Thank you AutomotiveTouchup. Paul Bowser
