Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 2000 Dodge Neon is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Mark S, owner of a 2001 Dodge Durango from Belfair, WA

Wow! I was afraid a bit, but excellent. Original owner left tape on the rear window too long and it bled into the clear coat. I watched the how to video's on YouTube and felt confident to make the fix. Masking product (tape and plastic) amazing. Masked off the whole area around the fender. Blended 3 base coats then followed it up after 40 minutes with 3 clear coats. I think I would of liked one more can of clear coat, but all and all it came out great. Original owner knocked off a lot of the sales price due to this problem, and it was fixed for $30 and a little elbow grease. I'd feel confident doing this to any other car or incident that pops up in the future. Very important to follow up your heavier sanding with 600 grit, with 1000 then 1500 to cut out fine lines. Watch the videos and you can't go wrong. Patience is key, can't rush the paint or the trying process. https://www.icloud.com/photostream/#A1JtdOXmzurY3 Thanks, Mark
