Restore Your 1988 Toyota MR2 Finish In Two Steps

Select Your Toyota's Color (Step One)

AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1988 Toyota MR2 using a basecoat/clearcoat system just like factory specs. To insure a proper match, you’ll need to know your vehicle’s color code, so you can find it on the chart below. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. The code will have a C/TR in front of it. A typical code will look like C/TR: 1D4/FH13, and 1D4 would be the color code in this example. Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1988 Toyota MR2 is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Jack D, owner of a 1988 Toyota MR2 from Concord, CA

Basecoat color for 88 Toyota (8E3) matched perfectly. As for every spray can the tip and spray was marginal put not bad. I suggest you keep that clean clean clean and save yourself some headaches. I used both the 2K clearcoat and the Gloss Clearcoat (Acrylic). My findings on the 2K was not very good and did not meet my expectations. drytime and workability was very challenging. I decided to do a redo on 2 pieces because of some flaws, maybe preprelated and temperature could have contributed as there is very little latitude on this product.. On the flip side the Gloss Clearcoat seemed to flow and respond much better. Long term I suspect will be the tell tail here. I may try the 2K again on some other items and follow up with this review.

Matt O, owner of a 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser from Pismo Beach, CA

Excellent quality

Michael F, owner of a 1989 Toyota Celica from Canyon Country, CA

I have used the products for sectional repairs prior to this. I decided that would attempt to refinish my trunk which had oxidized over the years. The products purchased were of high quality and relatively easy to use. Other my own underestimation of base coat, it all went very smooth and I am very satisfied with the results.
