Restore Your 1974 Chevrolet Corvette Finish In Two Steps

Select Your Chevrolet's Color (Step One)

AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1974 Chevrolet Corvette using a basecoat/clearcoat system just like factory specs. To insure a proper match, you’ll need to know your vehicle’s color code, so you can find it on the chart below. The color code will be located on a sticker named Parts Identification. The code can start with BC/CC followed by a U, or a WA with a four digit number/letter combination. We use the WA format for simplicity, your code may have a U. WA8555 is the same as U8555. Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1974 Chevrolet Corvette is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Michael T, owner of a 1974 Chevrolet Corvette from Laramie, WY

I had a problem with the paint matching and it turned out it was my fault. They were quick explaining my mistake. So I want to encourage others to choose the correct paint code and not assume the colors for the year are the same. The color is off enough that you cannot use it. Good luck to the diy's out there. Paul, owner of a 1974 Chevrolet Corvette from Washington, DC

Great color match. Excellent coverage. The fine spray produced by the aerosol is better than any competitor. Highly recommended.

Don H, owner of a 1974 Chevrolet Corvette from New Kensington, PA

Awesome place to find paint to match your vehicle!

Matthew C, owner of a 1974 Chevrolet Corvette from Shelbyville, IN

Products were great. Took my time, followed instructions and the end result was very nice. 1974 corvette front bumper. (White) happy with the results!

Eric S, owner of a 1974 Chevrolet Corvette from Saint Joseph, MO

I've been using Automotive Touch Up Paint for years and am very pleased with the color match and ease of use. It dries quickly and shines like new. I could not be more pleased. Will continue to use it and to recommend it to my friends.

Darren L, owner of a 1974 Chevrolet Corvette from Pottstown, PA

Great service and delivery time and a perfect match.

I went through a learning experience of how to repair cracks in the nose of my 1974 Corvette this year and since I have limited experience at body repair and no spray painting practice until this year I am some things I learned I learned. 1) Understand the properties of the material you are repairing. With urethane, expose the localized (at least two to four inches) around the crack area especially if you are not the original owner because you need to know what previous people did. After exposing the urethane, I found several hairline cracks to the naked eye but through the urethane cross section but hidden under good-looking paint. Some hidden cracks actually interconnected to pre-paint removal exposed cracks. 2) Determine the best corrective action – remove and replace the bumper painted properly with “Automotive Products” painting materiel (there are multiple choices available do your homework or I went through a learning experience of how to repair cracks in the nose of my 1974 Corvette this year and since I have limited experience at body repair and no spray painting practice until this year I am some things I learned I learned. 1) Understand the properties of the material you are repairing. Expect the worst-case urethane condition so expose the urethane to determine your best corrective action approach. 3) Determine the best corrective action: Remove and replace the bumper painted properly with “Automotive Products” painting materiel (there are multiple choices available so do your homework or you may get a less than satisfactory fix and/or far more cost than needed) Alternatively, for many, probably most people get a professional to do it. Or do it yourself. My first repair attempt taught me spray can painting technique and buying user-friendly equipment. I will definitely insure that I do not apply too many coats of paint on my next try and I will use another bonding agent to make certain the repaired bumper effectively provides high structural strength equal to or better than original manufactured equipment.

Great color match -- I have a 1974 Corvette that I had repainted to the 1993 Cad "Dark Polo Green"

Raymond M, owner of a 1974 Chevrolet Corvette from Wilkes Barre, PA
